Approved Headwear (or Face Coverings) for Workers
I initially made this series of bandanas thinking about the mundane and repetitive aspects of work and uniforms. Once the COVID-19 shutdowns came, they became different to me, their purpose was no longer fixed. I started a collaboration with my coworker Tommy Driscoll, a baker and photographer, to make photos of some of our fellow workers. We staged photos outside of work or outside of their homes, using the bandanas as props, costumes, symbols and stand-ins to think about the various situations we all found ourselves in. Each person shared reflections on what this time of uncertainty and change in the world and food industry has been like for them. Click on individual photos to read each person's reflections.
